Rainmelon Studio is a New York-based creative studio operating at the intersection of art, technology, AI, and visual culture. Led by visual artist Jingyi Zhang, the studio explores how intelligence-both human and artificial- can shape new forms of perception, storytelling, and experience.
The practice spans AI-driven visual direction, generative systems, interactive installations, and experimental image-making, blending aesthetics, code, and data to create resonating projects/products.

INTRODUCTION

This website explores the Mogao Caves through an interactive digital experience that blends cultural heritage, education, and immersive storytelling. By combining visual archives, Buddhist philosophy, historical narratives, and game-inspired interactions, the platform reimagines how audiences engage with ancient Dunhuang art in the contemporary digital age.

Users are invited to virtually navigate cave spaces, uncover hidden stories, restore fragmented murals, and interact with symbolic elements inspired by Buddhist aesthetics and Silk Road history. Through sound, image, and exploration, the project transforms cultural learning into an intuitive and emotionally engaging journey.

Rather than functioning solely as an archive, the website acts as a living digital environment — one that bridges preservation, participation, and contemporary media design.
